Abstract

Integrative approaches to healing have been made possible by the increasing understanding of the mind-body connection in healthcare. Two separate but complementary systems that highlight the part that mental and emotional states play in illness are psychoanalysis and homeopathy. While homoeopathy converts these mental states into customized therapeutic solutions, psychoanalysis reveals underlying tensions originating from early life experiences. Their conceptual overlap and possible integration in holistic medical practice are examined in this essay.
