Abstract

Rheumatological disorders — encompassing rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, and connective-tissue diseases — represent a major share of chronic musculoskeletal morbidity worldwide. Conventional management relies heavily on disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs and anti-inflammatory agents, which, while effective, are often limited by adverse effects, partial symptom control, and poor patient adherence in long-term use. Homoeopathy, founded on the principle of individualisation and the Law of Similars, offers a constitutional and miasmatic approach that addresses both the local joint pathology and the patient's underlying diathesis. This article reviews the homoeopathic understanding of rheumatological disease, common indicated remedies with their characteristic modalities, the available clinical evidence base, and the scope and limitations of homoeopathic intervention, with the aim of providing postgraduate scholars a structured, evidence-aware overview of the subject.
